Adopting Senior Pets Part 2: A Second Chance

While we encourage you to consider all your options to find the perfect pet for your family, we at In-Home Pet Sitters love senior pets. Why not consider giving a pet a second chance at a happy home?

Senior pets up for adoption aren’t necessarily available because of a behavioral issue. People are forced to part with their pets because of a move, they no longer have enough time, can’t accommodate a pet’s size, or because the owner herself has fallen ill or passed away.

If a senior pet has lost its owner, don’t be concerned that the pet will not want to bond with you. Senior pets seem to have a gratefulness at a second chance and, once they have a chance to adjust, can blend effortlessly into the new home.

Senior pets at animal shelters are usually the last to be adopted and the first to be euthanized.  So don’t write a senior pet off… consider a senior pet for the perfect addition to your family! We are your local pet sitters for animals of all ages, but we sure to love our senior pets!
